Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.
PSALM 31:24
Today, you’re going to speak to your heart. That heart that’s troubled, concerned, and worried about a plethora of things. That heart in the middle of making a difficult decision, or that heart that is on the verge of losing comfort and hope. Speak to the heart that is struggling with finding peace. And say, “Be of good courage.”
To be of good courage means to be strong, to stand your ground, or to “kwechiri”, as we say in Igbo. To hold on, to take up strength, to not allow anything to defeat your heart.
Say to it, “My heart, be of good courage, find your confidence in Him.” Maybe hope deferred has wearied your heart, or your heart has been broken by life experiences that you cannot find the strength to hope.
God is bringing strength to your heart. He’s strengthening the heart that is in need or failing. He’s strengthening the heart that is struggling with peace or has lost hope. He’s strengthening your heart and comforting you by His Spirit. Put all your hope in Him. He does not fail.
Declare
My heart be of good courage. Find your confidence and courage in the Lord, and He will strengthen you. Fret not yourself. The Lord is strengthening you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
