‘And the Lord said, “That’s right, and it means that I am watching, and I will certainly carry out all my plans.” ‘
Jeremiah 1:12
Recently, people who are close to me got into trading. Forex trading, gold trading, and different kinds of online trading. I am not very knowledgeable about it, so I may not even be using the correct terms. But we spent a few days together, and because of that closeness, I began to notice a few things.
First, they were glued to their phones, checking the charts almost round the clock, even into the wee hours of the night. Second, they were constantly analysing what they were seeing. You would hear them talking about it, sometimes debating, sometimes explaining things to one another. And because they watched and analysed so closely, they could quickly spot changes, make swift decisions or adjustments, and even predict what was likely to come next. They would say things like, maybe we should move this here, maybe we should rearrange this, maybe we should wait, maybe we should sell now.
To me, it sounded like tongues. Jargon. A foreign language. I had no idea what they were talking about. The only trading I truly understand is trading goods and services, you know, as an Igbo girl, and that one is in my blood.
I believe they were so invested in checking constantly because they had already invested resources and money into it, and things would go horribly wrong if they simply let it run on its own.
Beloved, when God spoke His Word to you, He invested a piece of Himself in that Word. His Word is Himself. He does not just speak it and step back. The Bible says He watches over His Word to perform it. I believe He watches your life in light of the promise He has given you.
For Example
God says He will keep you in perfect peace because your eyes are stayed on Him. God watches that Word. When He sees that your heart is beginning to depend on something that will produce anxiety, He calls your attention to it. When He sees that a certain commitment will pull you into worry, fear, or restlessness, He intervenes. Because He has already promised you peace.
He knows when to tell you to drop something. He knows when to stir someone to pray for you. He knows when to speak through a friend. He knows when to separate you from environments, habits, or relationships that would threaten the fulfilment of His Word in your life.
Why does He do this?
Because He is watching over His Word to bring it to pass. Far be it from God that a Word He has spoken concerning you will go unfulfilled. He adjusts circumstances. He shifts things. He moves what needs to be moved and removes what needs to be removed. Not because He is controlling, but because He is faithful.
So today, beloved, let your heart not be afraid. Whether the Word was spoken directly to you or written in the sixty-six books of Scripture, God is faithful enough to watch over it. He is guiding the circumstances around it. He is ensuring that it comes to pass.
Prayer
Father, I thank You because You are faithful to watch over Your Word. I choose to trust You with my heart, my life, and my journey. Where You are shifting things, give me grace to follow. Where You are removing things, give me peace to release them. I rest in the assurance that everything You have spoken concerning me will surely come to pass. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom
I am blessed with today’s word.
