YOUR FAITH IS AN AD

  • DAY 133
  • FAITH FILE: DANIEL
  • SCRIPTURES: DANIEL 6:16-20

So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.” Then a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might not be changed. Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him. Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?

Recently, a pastor was telling me how God sent a missionary friend of his to a new city. When he arrived at the city he had nowhere to go so he decided to go to a school that has boarding facilities. While he wandered around, someone saw him and offered to take him home, he went along. The landlord of the place is a very strong idol worshipper and the house is what we call “face me i face you” here in nigeria. When he met the missionary, he let him stay and after a month, he kicked out two of his tenants and converted the two rooms to a one bedroom flat for him with its own toilet within, at no charge.

Like, this idol worshipper built a house for a missionary of Jesus for free and his reason was that he believed he was a man of God. He did all this for the man and still faced his idol. Isn’t it amazing how unbelievers can tell a man of faith?

In our text today, the king found himself in a situation he didn’t expect. He never thought that what he decreed would come back to hurt the person he loves. It hurt him so much that he tried to deliver Daniel but there was nothing he could do about it. His decree was final. So he gave Daniel a word of courage, He said the God you serve continually will deliver. This unbelieving king knew the God in Daniel. He released his faith for Daniel and comforted him in the name of a God he didn’t even know personally.

Can’t Fake This

The presence and impact of God in the life of a man of faith is evident even to idol worshippers. You cannot fake it. To live so faithfully that unbelievers pray to your God for you is a miracle we should all desire to experience. That without a pulpit or a sermon, our faith can be discerned by our lifestyle.

King Darius didn’t stop at his prayer for Daniel, he went home and fasted. He was anxious to know what would become of Daniel. He was hoping he would be saved. He couldn’t sleep and he couldn’t wait for morning either. He ran to the den like his life depended on it. And what joy it was for him to see his faith pay off.

Beloved, if our neighbors cannot discern our faith by our way of  living, then we need to reevaluate ourselves. If we cannot impactfully represent our Lord without a word, then we have much to learn.

Run An Ad With Your Life

Everytime we go with God’s way, everytime we put our trust in Him, He will always come and save us. He cannot leave us stranded. The salvation is not limited to keeping us alive here on earth. It also includes calling us to be with Him in glory. Either way, we get delivered and that deliverance is not always about us alone. It’s about the unbelieving Darius that is fasting anxiously for you.

Ephesians 1 talks about our lives being advertisements of God’s power.

“I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you! This is the mighty power” (Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬ ‭TPT‬‬)

Daniel became this advertisement by having faith. You too can be one as you live each day in faith and courage.

Take a moment speak to God right now and ask for grace to be his signpost on the earth.

Shalom
