YOUR COURAGE THEIR FAITH

  • DAY 135
  • FAITH FILE: DANIEL
  • SCRIPTURES: DANIEL 6

Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

daniel 6:25-28

Dearly Beloved,

I understand that when you go through tough days and the worst moments of your life, the last thing you are thinking about is other people unless, of course, that issue has to do with others close to you. Chances are, you are focused on getting out more than anything else. You want that sickness to pass, that rent to be paid and that hurt to be healed. You want your finances to align with your desire and for once to not struggle and if you could, you would tell “problem” to finally “finish”.

So when people like us remind you that going through it has a purpose you almost want to haul something at us, probably something heavy and sharp. A couple of light blows, with a drop of bombastic side eye and hisses on top. Forgive us. We know all too well that life can be real but we cannot but tell you the truth.

A Greater Purpose

Your tough days are for a purpose greater than you and you will not figure it out until the problem comes to an end. Probably months or years after, that’s just the way it is sometimes. So you cannot afford to lose heart. You have to find a way to remember that the One in whom you have believed CAN NEVER let you fall. If you love Him and are in alignment with His purpose, the end of every matter is for your own good.

When Daniel was falling into the den of lions, he may not have imagined that his time with those carnivorous predators from the jungle would lead to the salvation of a whole nation. He may not have thought that Darius could establish a rule that turns an idolatrous nation towards the Lord; he just focused on believing in his God. He left the outcome in the hands of the one he prayed to. You never know the result of your courage. Your family could be depending on your faith. Your nation could be counting on your courage. That family that is on the verge of being broken could be repaired by one decision to believe in God. And millions could be counting on your testimony.

So believe in God. Now is not the time to lose heart. Hold on and be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Your challenge shall not be wasted.

Shalom.

Your Sister in courage.
