WHO AM I?
- DAY 16
- Fear File: Moses
- Scripture: Exodus 3:11-12
Who am I? is always a question of identity. It is a hint that the person is having an identity crisis (a period of uncertainty and confusion in which a person’s sense of identity becomes insecure, typically due to a change in their expected aims or role in society)
My background in psychology makes it easy for me to see how he could have a conflict. His name, Moses, was a constant reminder of his birth situation. It was no secret to him that he had to hide his Hebrew descent. He didn’t fit as a prince and he didn’t fit as a slave. This was the struggle of his life. To top it off, He was on the run, in a land far from his people. He had to adapt to their ways. So how does he know who he is or where he belongs, if he was never fully a part of anywhere?
But God knew this. and answered His question even before he asked. When Moses drew near, God said “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” (Exodus 3:6). So there it was, the answer, provided before the question.
God was saying, you belong somewhere. You are an heir of my promise to Abraham. You may have lived in between worlds but you were always Mine. The circumstances of your life cannot change your inheritance in Me.
You Are God’s
Beloved, your identity is rooted in this truth, that you are God’s. So who are you? You are the redeemed of the Lord. The seed of Abraham. A child of God. Bought with the blood of Christ. You are the image of God, all that He is, you are. Don’t you dare sell yourself short, the monarch of the universe is your Daddy. The creator of the universe is your manufacturer.
You might be living in the poorest part of the world, struggling to eat but your DNA is still the same. You may have done the worst thing on earth, but your DNA is still the same. You carry the DNA of the Most High. Your blood group is J-positive. Jesus is running through your veins.
Who are you to go? You are the elect of God. A chosen generation, a royal priesthood. The preferred one, the favoured one. The resurrection power is in you. When you walk in the room, power walks in.
I break the stronghold of that lying demon that tells you that you are nothing and you will amount to nothing. The devil is a liar. You are a mighty man of valour. Rise out of that fear, break loose and walk in your destiny.
Go in the confidence that God is not just with you but in you.
Shalom
