DAY 9: THE SPIRIT OF MIGHT
The Holy Spirit doesn’t just tell you what to do. He is unlike other counselors who tell you what you should do but not how you should do it. He tells you what and how but beyond that He gives you the ability to do what He has asked you to do. Your helper is aware that the desire to do is only half the work, so He works in you to will and to do according to His good pleasure.
“For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” –Philippians 2:13
That ability to do is called might. “Might” means strength, force, mastery, superior power, energy, etc. Why is it important for the Holy Spirit to manifest as “might”? Because the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41).
How many times have you known what you ought to do but for some reason, you didn’t do it? You knew you should wake up early to pray but you slept longer. And you knew you needed to publish that book but you haven’t written it yet. All the dreams and plans you have cannot be a reality if you lack ability. That ability comes from The Spirit because by strength shall no man prevail.
Might can also manifest as skill and know-how. You can be gifted by the spirit to do things you couldn’t do before. It happened with the disciples and it can happen for you too.
Declare
I receive might today in Jesus’ name. I decree that I have the ability, strength, power, skill, and energy to pursue the goals that God has put in my spirit in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Shalom.
