SURROUND YOURSELF WITH EVIDENCE
- DAY 355
- FAITH FILE: MARY
- SCRIPTURES: Luke 1
You see, if you hear a ridiculous thing, you need ridiculous people around you to support you and strengthen your faith. Crazy has to go together, faith has to go together, normal has to go together, and incredible has to go together. It’s the way the cookie crumbles. If you are holding onto a word, you want to surround yourself with people who are crazy enough to stand with you on it because they too had to hold on to a crazy word once before, or even in that season.
And the interesting thing is that God always gives us evidence to hold on to when He gives us a crazy word. He always makes sure that there is a type and shadow. Somebody that is probably living in the reality of their incredible promise. When I got the word to write this devotional, I thought for sure somebody was misinterpreting what God said. This is crazy but I married an even crazier man of faith. He believes all things and don’t get me started on my family and friends. But he also left me to witness my pastor carry out God’s agenda from absolutely nothing.
In our text today, the angel told Mary of her cousin who was called barren but now is pregnant. He told her this as a sign, evidence that God is capable of doing what He just said to her. The moment the angel left, guess what this woman did? She went “in haste” to the house of Elisabeth. She went there because she knew that for this incredible thing she was about to step into to happen it would require that she be surrounded by evidence. She did not want to set herself around people that would puncture her faith. She surrounded herself with people who could believe what she was saying.
Beloved, we need to surround ourselves with evidence. We put ourselves in problems and set ourselves up for fear, doubt, and failure if we do not surround ourselves with evidence. You see that person who is doing what you are thinking of doing, that person who has what you are believing for, they are not your competition, they are your evidence. Let them inspire you to faith not threaten you.
The moment Mary got to Elizabeth, there was a confirmation that she was her evidence. There will be a confirmation with your evidence. A new year is coming upon us. So start gathering evidence. Start putting people around you that are going to stand you up and support and cheer you on.
Pray now and say, Lord, open my eyes to see the evidence that you have put around my life for the assignment that you are calling me to. In Jesus name, Amen.
Shalom.
