Suddenly Arrived

‘Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

John 6:21

So far, we have talked about Jesus sending the disciples to the other side of Bethsaida after they had fed the five thousand. We have also looked at how Jesus saw that they were struggling and didn’t go to them immediately because He wanted to solidify their convictions and reveal a part of Himself to them. If you missed it, read it here

Today, we are looking at that same story from John’s account. The Bible tells us that the disciples spent hours struggling with the storm without reaching their intended destination. They started the journey probably tired and spent longer than they should have in the middle of a storm they would rather not be in. But when Jesus stepped into the boat, not only did the wind and waves cease, but they immediately arrived at the destination they were going.

Beloved, if you find yourself stuck in a storm and losing time instead of making progress, do not be afraid, God is a restorer. When that season is complete, He will accelerate you by His power and the years that the canker worm, the palmer worm, the locust, the wild beast have eaten and devoured, He will restore. Get ready for a sudden arrival! Your test was not a waste, your struggle was not in vain. You built character and you witnessed the power of restoration.

Prayer

So, thank God with this prayer: ‘Father, I thank You because I am arriving immediately at the place that you need me to be today. I believe my life was not being delayed, I was just in process. So thank You for the process, and I thank You because I have stepped in fully into that which you have prepared for me, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Shalom
