SAME GOD

  • DAY 171
  • FAITH FILES: DAVID
  • SCRIPTURES: 1 SAMUEL 17:37

Moreover David said, “The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be with you!”

Yesterday we talked about how we can handle our doubters who tend to discourage us from our God-given assignment. When David faced a doubter, he presented his qualification, which was gotten from his previous battles in the back side of the desert. If he could kill a devouring lion and a ferocious bear, a tall giant was no big feat. Yet, he understood that those victories were won by God and he was depending on the God that did it before to do it again.

Same God

A couple of us are quick to remember our qualifications but we forget to recognize the God factor. But who could blame you? How weird would it be if you showed up for an interview and they asked for your skills and you say “The same God that made me succeed in a job that I cannot prove because it’s private will help me succeed in this as well?” Or imagine you added that to your CV under past experience. Chances are, even some pastors might not hire you. But I do not mean that you do the above. However, you cannot forget to keep it front and center in your heart. You and people should know that there is something extra about how you achieved that task. Let it be said that no man can do these things except the Lord be with him.

Beloved, do not be afraid, the same God that helped you before will also help you on this assignment. Your confidence has to be in Him and not in you. Yes, you have the qualification and the experience but all that is nothing if God isn’t on your side. But God is on your side, He will never leave you. Rest in that assurance.

Shalom.
