DAY 68: PEACE, BE STILL
The disciples and Jesus were crossing over to the other side when they encountered a great wave. This storm was so disastrous that it tossed the boat to and fro and it was filled with water. They had tried everything they could to save the boat and themselves but everything they were trying was not working. By all indications, they were about to perish. The Bible records that they became afraid and they searched and turned around for their Savior.
You see, sometimes we remember the Lord only when we have tried everything we know how to try and failed. When nothing seems to be working that is the time we often tend to turn to God. He won’t turn you away but wouldn’t it be nice to have saved our energy and sought Him first?
When the disciples came to the end of themselves they sought for Jesus and found Him asleep in the boat. Do you not care that we are about to perish? They asked. Do you not care that we are in the midst of a turbulent situation?
Do You Not Care
When we become afraid, a lot of us ask Jesus “Do you not care?” Jesus, do you not care that my daughter is about to die? Do you not care that they are about to kick me out of my house? Do you not care that I’m about to lose my marriage? Do you not care that this man keeps cheating on me? Jesus, carest thou not that I am about to be overwhelmed by this problem that I find myself in?
When Jesus got up, He rebuked the sea and said “Peace, be still.” And the same authority He had He has given to you. You have the authority to use His name and to rebuke whatever He rebuked. He said even greater works than He did, you can do.
Decree
Look at that storm you find yourself in and say, peace be still in the name of Jesus. I decree stillness in my marriage, my home, my business, over my kids, and in every area of my life. Peace be still in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Shalom
My heart, peace, be still.
This really blessed me. Thank you and God bless
