NEVER TOO LATE

  • DAY 236
  • FEAR FILE: SAMSON
  • SCRIPTURES: JUDGES 16:28-30

Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, “O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left. Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.

It’s never too late for us to correct our ways. It’s never too late for us to go back to God, repent from our sins, and fix the mess that we have created. Samson had messed up big time and he knew it. His decision to mingle with Delilah turned him into a blind, powerless captive that was only fit for entertainment and mockery.

This was his new and embarrassing reality, but He had learned from his errors, his hair was growing now and he knew God was merciful. So he decided to act in courage and ask God for another opportunity to do what he didn’t before. And so he cried out to God for one more chance. It was his final act. God heard and answered his prayer. Samson killed so many more people than he had in his lifetime because he had the courage to retrace his steps.

Beloved, You can’t stay in a place where you fell feeling sorry for yourself. You have to be courageous enough to fix what you have done wrong. Go to God and say, “God, I’m sorry. Give me another chance to make things right. I’m going to do it right this time.” Let this be your reminder that God forgives. He’s a merciful God. And if you return, He will give you a second chance.

Shalom.
