MY REDEEMER LIVES

  • DAY 252
  • FAITH FILE: JOB
  • SCRIPTURES: JOB 19:25-27

For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

A lot of people are worried about what is going to happen when we leave this earth, what is going to happen when we leave this side of eternity? What is awaiting us on the other side? And that can feel like a very crippling fear for most people. Especially the thought of not making heaven at the last moment because of one action done just the trumpet blows. What if all the suffering on earth is worthless and it doesn’t amount to anything in heaven? They ask. The more they ponder, the more anxious they become.

Nobody really has a low down on what is going to happen on the other side of eternity because not a lot of people have gone and come back. In fact, most of the people who say they went and came back, most of us don’t believe them because there is no proof to believe. They just tell you what they saw. Everything we hear about heaven is other people’s experiences, not necessarily ours because dead men don’t tell tales.

A Hope Of A Future

Yet here is a man of faith like Job, confident about eternity even though he has not been there. He knew that after everything else was done on earth, even though his skin was destroyed, in the end, he would see God for himself. His eyes will behold God. What confidence and faith, to know that whether you live or die, you win. Paul had this courage and confidence when he said “To live is Christ and to die is gain.”

If you are probably concerned about dying because you are not sure where you will end up. Well, be sure. Because your bible says that your salvation was completed the day you accepted the life of Christ. Your problem is to continue to love Jesus, to go with Him, and trust that when He said that He redeemed you, He actually did.

Trust His Word

Don’t allow fear of what’s to come affect your ability to live to the fullest today. If you can believe God’s promises for you while you are on earth, then you can believe His word concerning your eternal life. His word still has the same amount of power in every sphere of existence.

So I want to encourage you today with the word of God that your redeemer lives and when everything is said and done on earth, all your sojourn will not be a waste, you’re going to wake up and be with Jesus. Your savior will be smiling at you saying, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter then into my rest.”

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. I Thessalonians 4:13-19
