DAY 17:MY EARS ARE OPEN

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.

isaiah 30:21

Ever wanted to go somewhere and you do not know where exactly it is located? I have, countless times. And what I do is turn to Google. If I have the address I put it in Google Maps and if I don’t, I search the maps as well. Once the location is selected google will take it from there and direct you every step of the way. In addition to having the map on your screen, there is a voice that calls out the directions. You will hear something like “In 300km turn left.” Although I had no idea where the location was, if I followed that voice accurately I would get to my selected destination. But I have an option to mute this voice.

God’s Not Google

The only issue is you cannot trust Google’s direction 100% if you live in Nigeria. Google has let me to a dead-end and still kept insisting I take a left turn. So, when I am heading somewhere, even though I have Google, I ask the locals or people around there for directions just to confirm. Because I do not trust Google’s voice of directions.

In every season of your life, you need direction, and more so in a new season. God has promised that His voice will guide you wherever you go and that voice is not like Google that can get you in a dead end. His voice can be trusted and He will lead you to your destiny. But the thing is, sometimes we mute His voice like we mute the Google voice directions feature, so we are unable to hear.

We mute it by not being sensitive, always disobeying Him, or cutting off fellowship from Him. Our ears can also be closed from hearing Him because we let life experiences shut it. Today we will speak over our ears.

Declare

Put your hand over your ears and say “My ears are open to hearing the voice of the Lord, everything that affects my hearing is cast out now in Jesus’ name. I hear the voice of God, I enjoy the direction in every area of my life.

“To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” – John 10:3-5
