DAY 10: I HAVE KNOWLEDGE
When I was younger, my mom had this amazing ability to guess what we’ve been up to behind her back. She would walk in the door and guess what we did that day, even the mischief. We always suspected that somebody told her and sometimes someone did. Her response to our query of how she knew was, “I have the spirit of God, God told me.” I always thought she was lying and said that to trick us. As an adult, I know now that it is easy to predict what kids are up to but also sometimes you can know things that you have no way of explaining how you know them. My friends and I are familiar with this phenomenon.
There are things about people, my family, the word of God, and even a field of study that I just know with 100% certainty but I know for a fact that I have NEVER read or heard it anywhere before. That unexplainable knowledge comes from the Holy Ghost. Countless times I picked up my pen and wrote pages on a subject I knew nothing about just because I stumbled on scripture. Then I will start researching the truth of that concept and doing surveys and reading articles and boom, there it is, prove.
One of the functions of the Holy Spirit is to lead us into all truth but He is also a teacher. John 14:26 says, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” Knowledge is one of the ways He manifests. He is the Spirit of Knowledge and tells you facts. When you come into information that you should otherwise not know, that is the spirit at work.
You need knowledge in every area of your life, especially in a new season, because not all things are clear at the beginning. When picking friends, you need to know who they are beneath the surface. Before investing, you need to know if things will get better or worse in the company you are investing in. And of course, when picking a spouse, knowledge is a vital thing to have.
Declare
I know the things that the Lord wants me to know per season. My head is open to know; my spirit is open to know. I receive the workings of the spirit of knowledge in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen. I come out of the darkness of ignorance and come into the light of knowledge today, amen.
Therefore my people have gone into captivity, Because they have no knowledge; Their honorable men are famished, And their multitude dried up with thirst. –Isaiah 5:13
