DAY 72: MY STRONG TOWER

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.

PROVERBS 18:10-13

Picture a tower with me. A tower looks tall and strong. It is heavily protected and fortified and it is not so easy to penetrate or break into. Because it is tall, it lets you see what is approaching while it is afar off and you can defend or protect yourself.

It also offers a place of safety and protection This is what the name of the Lord does as well. If you are afraid or threatened and run to the Lord’s name, you will find protection. The name of Jesus is powerful enough to bring everything to its knees.

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. –Philippians 2:9-11

I have heard stories of people calling out the name of Jesus while in danger and they were miraculously saved. The name of Jesus has saved me more times than I can count. If it protected people from visible, practical, real-life danger how much more will it protect you from things unseen?

However,  you cannot bear the name of Jesus if you do not carry the Spirit of God. It is the spirit of God that confirmed your adoption in Christ and bears witness that you have the right to use that name. That same Spirit will open your eyes to see when things are about to come into your protective arena and he will give you wisdom on how to manage or avert it.

So if you feel afraid and worried or you just feel unsafe in your heart, rest assured that the name of Jesus is your protection and run to that name. Speak that name over situations, speak it over your family. You can do so right now

Declare

I speak over every pain, fear, and trouble. I declare that in the name of Jesus, I am safe. I declare that everything against my faith, peace, joy, family, finances, safety, sound mind, or any other areas of my life, bows in the name of Jesus. Amen

For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah –PSALM 61:3-4
