DAY 52: NOTHING WITHHELD

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: The LORD will give grace and glory: No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

PSALM 84:11

God wants you to have good things. Let that sink in for a moment. We have been taught, directly or indirectly that God will not just give us the good things of life to enjoy. Whatever we want has to have some eternal purpose or we won’t get it. And so we feel guilty when we ask for material things.

Why should we believe for vanities like expensive phones, vacations abroad, houses in high brow areas without convincing Him that it is for Kingdom purpose? If we don’t have heaven in mind He will withhold it, that’s a lie.

God is not holding anything to punish you or force you to comply to His demands. He is a father, a good father. In Matthew 7, Jesus asked a question:

”Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!“ —Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Every good father is pleased to give their children good things, yet no father is as good as God. So why will we expect less from Him?

The only reason we don’t get good things is because we don’t ask. And when we ask and don’t get them it’s because our heart is not right. We’re not asking for it to enjoy, we’re getting it to oppress others. Or it is clear that if we get it we will make it our god.

”Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.“ —I Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved, enjoyment is your right and your Father lives to see you enjoy good things. So start believing for that house with a good view, that brand new car and 8 bedroom duplex. Ask Him and He will give you.

Declare

I have the good things of life. It is the desire of my Father to bless me with good things. God is not withholding any blessing from me because I am His beloved child and He is a good Father. So I call forth (add what you’ve been believing for) today in Jesus name. Amen
