DAY 109: CHRIST IN MY HEART
The only way you are going to navigate this world is if Christ is dwelling in your heart through faith. It is by faith because this is a faith adventure. You are not going to open the inside of your heart surgically to check whether Christ, whom you cannot see, is there. But some signs point to His presence and you are the one that will put Him there.
Christ is a gentleman, he doesn’t force Himself on anyone. He stands at the door and knocks, hoping that you will hear and let Him in to sup with you. You open that door by believing that He died for you and that He chooses you no matter what you have done. However, this is only the first step.
Salvation opens the door to Him but He is not just looking for access He’s looking to be Lord, He’s looking for a home in your heart. Romans 13:14 says
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
That’s how you make your heart a home for Him. You put on Christ by putting on the word. He is the Word, every encounter with the Word is an encounter with Jesus. And the fruits you bear let you know if you are more like Christ. Are you leaning toward the things that the Holy Spirit asks you? Or are you leaning toward the things that your flesh needs?
Having Christ in your heart is peace, It’s joy, warmth, and love. It is clarity in confusion, hope in despair, solution in problem, and light in the midst of darkness. Having Christ in your heart is a non-negotiable necessity for every individual and more so for every believer.
Confession
Christ dwells in my heart. He has taken room on the inside of my heart, He abides in there. My heart is filled, to overflow, with His word. My mind meditates upon it and in so doing I put Christ within myself. He is my light and my soul is filled with his peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Shalom.
