DAY 108: STRENGTH IN MY INNER MAN
This is a prayer Paul often made for the Ephesian church, arguably every day. He prayed that they would receive the riches of God’s glory but also that they would be strengthened with might through the Spirit in their inner man. This is an important prayer because some days you wake up and you feel tired from the inside. You feel weak, unmotivated, and even uninspired. This is not some mere physical tiredness this one is from within.
Sometimes you get tired in your marriage, you are done trying to make it work. Or maybe you are tired of the way your kids are acting and you cannot take it for one more day. Life may have thrown too many things at you and you are sick and tired of being sick and tired. Whatever the case, you need strength on your inside. This is why the strength of the Lord is released on your inside. Your inside can speak of your heart or your spirit.
A weak spirit often reveals itself in tiredness, but times of refreshing come from God’s presence, and those who wait upon Him have their strength renewed. Pray this verse for yourself that you will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit within you, In Jesus’ name.
Confession
Put your hand over your head or chest and say “I receive strength in my inner man. I am strengthened from within. I do not go weary. I have the capacity on the inside of me to do the will of God. To go about all that I need to do today. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Isaiah 40:31 - But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Shalom.
