CONFESSIONS OF FAITH AND COURAGE
- DAY 113
- FEAR FILES: THE FEARFUL YOU
- SCRIPTURE: PSALM 27
Confession: declaration, proclamation, acceptance, statement, recitation.
I am a firm believer in the power that lies in the tongue. First, because the Bible says so but also because I have found it to be true in my life on various accounts. Every word you speak is powerful enough to change your life. Now we know that the word of God has power on its own, how much more power will be evident if the word is what proceeds out of your mouth? So from time to time, we will pick a scripture and make it our confession of faith and courage for that season.
Our confession today is Psalm 27 declare it, pray it, meditate upon it, and commit it to memory. Also make it personal, hold on to every word like your life depends on it. Put your name on it. And you will see how your heart condition will change from faith to fear. Let’s take an example from the first 3 verses
Verse 1
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”
Light is revelation and illumination, It is clarity, wisdom, and revelation. I have light so I cannot lack the wisdom I need for any area of my life. This season I walk in light, so I know what to do per time, the road ahead of me is not shrouded in darkness. My path is clear, every step I take, I take in the Lord so I cannot be afraid of what lies ahead of me. I walk confidently into the unknown.
I am not afraid of anything or anyone because God is my salvation. He will come to my rescue. I am stronger than any opposition because God is my strength.
Verse 2
“When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.”
Anyone who gangs up against me has made a big mistake and a wrong decision. They threatened to report my account, to take my job, to sue me and my business but they are not aware that the Lord has set them on a slippery part. He has placed a stumbling block before them. They will fall for my sake. Cyndy is not someone you attack anyhow. I may look like prey from a distance but no weapon formed against me shall prosper. You will see that you wasted time and resources.
So my heart, do not be afraid. Your enemies will fall for your sake. Take courage
Verse 3
“Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.”
My heart, do not fear. You may look like you’re surrounded but look again. Those surrounding you are surrounded by God. They think they ambushed you but it was a trap for them. Now they are the ones ambushed. I am victorious in war and I am more than a conqueror. In Jesus’ name.
Take a moment and confess the other verses over yourself today
