A FEARFUL KING
Is this true with you too? Are you so terrified of your coronation that you rather hide? You are called to speak to the world, but there you are hiding behind that excuse. forgetting that nobody lights a candle to keep it hidden.

The worst thing God can say to me is “Do what you want.” It is a fear I do not want to get over. I never want to get to a point where God allows me to have my way because I have proven consistently that I will go His way or do His will, it’s my way or the highway. Ah! God forbid! I want to believe that nobody would want that. Yet, our text proves me wrong.
When we crave for something outside what God has given us what we are telling Him is that He made a wrong decision. What He offered us is not good enough and we would prefer if He withheld His unpleasant gift.
Sometimes we face our biggest threats when we decide to live for the Lord. It’s like the enemy launches an all out attack on us. And our hearts might begin to fear. Just like the children of Israel were afraid because of their enemies. We might wonder why we are facing this same enemy even after we made things right with God.
Beloved, God doesn’t owe anybody an explanation for His actions. He can do as He pleases. When we understand this, all that depression, anxiety, offense and frustration we feel will dissipate and peace will replace it. Because we know that His sovereignty doesn’t cancel out his benevolence.
Eli knew that that was a bad precedence for a high priest. God’s word must be declared as it is, no matter how heavy it feels coming out. Samuel needed to learn that fear of people is a bad ingredient in the making of a messenger of God. He must speak what he has heard to him that is meant to hear it without any atom of fear and this lesson must be learned early.
It is so amazing how our world today looks exactly like Bible days. When I look at the decadence of culture and the new inventions of how people think children should be raised I shudder.
If you broke a vow, today is an opportunity to make amends. Whatever vow God is bringing to your mind right now, it’s probably because He wants you to make amends on that.
“So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the Lord. And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish. Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord…
Hannah was focused on a rival she should have ignored and let her heart be polluted by sadness. To get her joy back she needed to focus on the blessing she had in her husband. Now don’t get me wrong, a husband is not a child. However, a person of faith knows that the way to have what it is they’re believing for is to maintain their joy. The Bible says, “With joy, you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” So joy is not something to lose.
