THE I AM SENDS YOU

• Scripture: Exodus 3:13-15

Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.’ ” Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’

EXODUS 3:13-15

Out of all the questions Moses asked, this one I get. Who do I say is sending me? Because we have a few people who are more than willing to shoot the messenger. Especially in this internet age. where we have a lot of hitmen in the comment section. One post or report is all that is needed to shoot a messenger down. It’s called the cancel culture.

The twist is, it is the “church folk” that have the most sophisticated weapons. So Moses needed to know on whose authority He was going. He needed to convince his brethren that it is the same God they know that sent him.

However, this question too was another excuse. Because if you recall, God had already introduced Himself, and committed Himself to go with Moses. What was Moses’ fear/concern? That maybe, he might be asked again, who made you judge and ruler over us.? as he was asked in Exodus 2:14

People Will Question You

Can I tell you a secret? This question cannot be avoided. People will ask you who sent you. The religious people will seek to know by whose authority you speak. They asked Jesus the same thing. But don’t let the realness of this fear cripple your heart. God has an answer.

The “I AM” sent you. You are not on this journey alone. The All-powerful sent you. And as my mom will say, fear the sender more than the one that you are sent to. 

I will advise you to ask God this question. Not as an excuse but as a desire to get a deeper revelation of your Abba. You need to know for yourself. Because once you know your sender and the message, the receiver will become less scary.

God also has a strategy. He told Moses what he would say, but also how to go about saying it. 

The world is asking because it wants to discredit you. The enemy wants to discredit you, so he will call up your past and publish your failures. But he is too late. Let the 300 boyfriends that you had abortions for come together, (I know it’s an exaggeration) the I AM still sent you.
