DAY 112: FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
Another confession to make when you wake up every day is “I bear fruit of the Spirit.” I’ve learned that these fruits are necessary for daily life. Look at the qualities listed and consider them to be character traits. Love, joy, peace, patience, self-control?
In what scenario do you not need to have these qualities at work in your life? There was a season in my life when I made this confession more often than I do today; it was in my daily prayer journal. I started to see changes in my behavior and I realized it was because I was yielding more to the Spirit.
The fruit of love enables you to see the best in people, take no record of wrong, forgive quickly, and treat people like Jesus would. Peace becomes people’s experience when they come around you because you have peace in your mind, heart, spirit, soul, and body. And joy keeps your emotions stable even when life isn’t.
Longsuffering means you don’t quit easily. You can persevere through tough times that may come from work, family, relationships, etc. Then there is kindness and goodness that enables you to treat people right. Faithful makes you true, loyal, constant, and dependable with work, family, and even faith.
Confession
I bear the fruits of the spirit. I am loving, patient, kind, good, and joyful in every situation. I have a gentle spirit and it is reflected in my words and actions. I have self-control over my thoughts, words, actions, and everything that concerns me. I declare that I am led by and bear fruits of the Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Shalom.
