DAY 110: THINK ON THESE

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV

So we’ve talked about your thoughts being pleasing to God and taking every thought into captivity. But if you are not supposed to think negative thoughts what thoughts are you supposed to be thinking? That’s the amazing thing about the Bible, it doesn’t just tell you what not to do but also what you should do. We have an answer in this our text today.

Whatever things are true. Your thoughts should be based on the truth. And we know for sure that God’s word is true. If you fix your mind on false information your belief system will be based on lies.

Whatever things are noble. Noble means moral. Notice that morality comes after truth because morality is based on truth. Immoral actions are born out of immoral thoughts. So spend less time on immorality.

Whatever things are just. Justice is based on truth, morality ,and the right thing. You can think just thoughts because you have the nature of God on the inside of you.

Whatever things are pure, lovely, and are of good report. If you cannot tell Jesus or your mama about it, don’t think about it. If there is any virtue and if it is praiseworthy then that’s what you should meditate upon.

Confession

Declare over your soul, “My thoughts are true, my thoughts are pure, my thoughts are noble, pure, just and of good report. I think virtuous and praiseworthy thoughts that are pleasing unto the Lord. In Jesus’ name.

Shalom.
