DAY 91: BLESS THE LORD
In the Out of Fear community, we have a prayer program we call Wake Up and Worship that is held at 6 am during retreats or fasting seasons. We spend that time of prayer in worship and praise. The highlight for me is counting all the blessings we’ve already received that day, in detail. We thank God for eyes, nose, lungs, breathing, sight, hearing, mobility, food, and even the ability to use the toilet.
Why is this important? Because it is so easy to forget God’s goodness. Also, praise should precede your day. We ought to praise God’s name from the rising of the sun to the setting of the same. When you wake up in the morning you should be grateful and show it.
Praise is a non-negotiable faith factor. It shouldn’t even be up for discussion once you wake up praise should follow. Let’s practice that today.
Confession
Heavenly Father, thank you for waking me up this morning and showing me your goodness. Thank you for my eyes, ears, mouth, speech, mobility in my limbs, and breath in my lungs. I thank you for my family, food on my table, shelter over my head, clothes on my back, and most importantly, I thank you that I am ALIVE!!! For everything you’ve done, may Your name be praised forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen
From the rising of the sun to its going down the Lord’s name is to be praised. —Psalms 133:3 NKJV
