DAY 74: LOVE NOT FEAR

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

1 JOHN 4:18

This is a scripture you should have in your heart because it applies to every kind of love. There is no fear in love. Let’s bring this down to our natural relationships; If you are in a relationship and you are afraid of the person, insecurity, or jittery around that person, that’s not love, that’s abuse.

Our relationship with God is all love from start to finish. His love fills us with warmth. And although He is powerful enough to be feared and with the blast of His nostrils, the whisper of His voice, or the snap of His finger everything can become dust in less than an instant. Yet He draws us with love.

He’s A Father

He doesn’t want us to come to Him afraid, He asked us to come boldly before Him. He’s our Father after all. He is not some terrifying person whose only work or pleasure is to frustrate you and look for the areas where you have failed, to hang it over your head, or to punish you.

But the enemy wants us to believe, that God remembers every wrong and hangs it over our head and is going to use it against us. But that is far away from Scripture and a bald-faced lie. So if you feel like God doesn’t love or accept you and you are too far gone for Him to want you, it’s because you don’t understand His love.

If your life is a mess His love is so pure, it will purify you. Just coming in contact with Him, His love will break you down so much you would never want to sin another day in your life. God’s love is that powerful.

Declare

I refuse to live in fear. I accept and live in the fullness of love. I am rooted and grounded in the love of Christ. There is no shame, no sin, strong enough, or stronger than the love of God. And so I lay down everything I am and embrace the fullness of God’s love for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? –Romans 8:35
