DAY 53: I WALK BY FAITH

”For we walk by faith, not by sight.“

‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Sight is one of the most important senses of man. We greatly depend upon it. If it were taken away adaptation would be difficult and the society will tag you disabled. The closest example to how it would feel would be a blindfold, if you close your eyes or if you were in a room and the light went out. Even figuratively sight is important and anyone without it will struggle to walk alone. They’d have to depend on someone else to lead them.

So if you have sight this text might seem impractical. How do you disregard a sense you depend on and replace it with something that cannot be classified as eyes or sight? But that’s exactly what God is asking of us.

Faith Over Senses

Depending on your sense is not the way of a believer. If we must walk with God our senses are not profitable, including our sight. Being led by what you see in front of you is disastrous. Because the things we see are temporal and unrealizable but the things we do not see are eternal.

Our natural senses will always stand in the way of the leading of the Spirit and we’re not sons of God if we’re not led by His Spirt. And the eyes of the spirit is faith. Faith is the only sense that matter and should be dependent on.

When we lose our natural sight, we depend on God to lead us by faith. We struggle to do this because we are addicted to seeing in order to believe, we crave some kind of tangible evidence. But God says that faith is all the evidence we need.

Declare

I walk by faith and not by sight. I choose to depend on things unseen, I chose to depend on the leading of God. Faith is all the evidence I need for life in Christ. So I close my eyes to the things that are in front of me and I open my eyes to the truth of God’s word. I am the Just and I shall live by faith.

Shalom.
