DAY 44: MY FUTURE IS PEACE
Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace.
PSALM 37:37
The fear of the future is one of the major fears people face. I once asked an audience of 50,000 people who follow me online what they were most afraid of and about 70% of them confirmed to have an expression of fear of the future.
Some were worried that they may never get the life they desire. Some are concerned because they have no way of knowing for certain what was in store for their future. I got Adams from people who have sought mediums and fortune tellers just to get some glimpse into their future and I found it rather sad that they would put themselves in bondage in pursuit of a knowledge they already have in the word.
Peace Ahead
Our text today, we have a glimpse into our future. God says it is peace. That word there is shalom. We end every devotional day with that word because it is the inheritance of a believer and when it is spoken as a greeting it also a declaration.
Shalom speaks of wealth, prosperity, health and favour. It also speaks of a state of completeness and quietness. I heard someone explain it as nothing missing, nothing broken. That is what is in your future. Not worry, fear, poverty or whatever else you believe is in store for you.
If you are upright and live by His word, your future is peace. You may not know how many cars you will buy or what city you will live in but you can rest assured that the future you have is of peace because that is all God thinks concerning you.
”For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.“—Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
Your future is not uncertain, God has settled it and It is peace. Peace in your mind; peace in your body; peace in your home; peace in your finances.
God has prepared a peaceful future for you but you have to trust Him so that you can rid yourself of that anxiety and come into the rest and peace that He has prepared for you.
Declare
I may not know the details of my future but I know that my future is peace. I will enjoy health, wealth and prosperity. Suffering, sickness, loneliness, poverty and lack is not in my future. My future is peace. In Jesus name. Amen
