DAY 13: I FEAR GOD

The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

Isaiah 11:2

The fear of the Lord, what is it? To fear the Lord is to depart from evil. It is to hate evil and turn away from it completely. You cannot have it any other way, don’t be deceived. “Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.” Proverbs 3:7

You cannot be communing with evil and say you fear the Lord. The fear of the Lord will make you stay away from evil, just ask Noah, David, Enoch, Joseph, Daniel, and the likes of them who are called men of faith. They refused pleasures, chose prison, carried out weird instructions, and put themselves in harm’s way because they feared the Lord. People who fear God, don’t practice or endorse any form of evil, be it sin, maltreatment, oppression, or injustice, they hate it through and through.

God knew that to attain the fear of the Lord, would be hard. So what did He do? He released a manifestation of the Spirit of God called the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord. So that you can fear Him. Every believer that has the Holy Spirit has the fear of the Lord in them but we must yield to the Spirit and be led, to have the fear of the Lord.

Declare

I submit myself to the influence, instruction, direction, and control (yeah, control) of the Spirit of the fear of the Lord. Let the fear of the Lord burst forth from the inside of me like rivers of living waters. Let the fear of the Lord fill me through and through. I will move in the fear of the Lord this season and always. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding. – Job 28:28

Shalom.
