DAY 5: MY DWELLING PLACE
As we continue our 30 declarations for a new season, let me remind you why these declarations are important. Words birth life or death, courage or fear. It shapes the condition of your heart and life.
Today we are positioning our hearts ahead of time to dwell in God’s presence. You see, the house of the Lord is where His presence has chosen to dwell. It is not just a physical location, like a church building. And since Jesus came, died, and resurrected, God’s primary dwelling place is in our hearts. God is dwelling with and in us every day, every time, in every way. So to dwell in His house is to make time to fellowship with Him.
Your heart needs to be positioned ahead of time, in these first weeks, to dwell in God’s presence. God’s presence is safety, security, and, in this weird century, sanity. Fear, depression, uncertainty, worry, and pain are companions of those who do not dwell in His house.
This scripture is also literal. Going to the house of God should not be negotiable for a person of faith and courage.
So Declare
Put your name in that scripture and say, “I (add your name) will dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of this year and all the days of my life. I will abide in the presence of the Lord. I will value the presence of God more than anything. May I never desire anything more than I desire your presence, O Lord. No matter what will come against me this year, I will resolve it in the presence of Abba. In Jesus’ name. Amen”
