RUN WITH HORSES
- DAY 326
- FEAR FILE: JEREMIAH
- SCRIPTURES: JEREMIAH 12:1-2, 5
In our text today, Jeremiah is complaining to God. He was tired of seeing unbelievers do well, while believers struggle. This guy was questioning God. He’s like, “God we need to talk about this. Something doesn’t add up. How can you be just and let this keep happening?”
What’s amazing is that God lets him finish. When he was done, God did not go about explaining or cuddling Him, because He was not a baby anymore. He didn’t even tell him, “Sorry you feel that way, Jeremiah, your feelings are valid.” No. He asked him a question. Let me translate the question in today’s lingo. “Jerry, is that why you called Me? This small thing is what’s making you all worked up. If you cannot handle this small problem, what will happen when you see a big one?”
Men v Horses
Footmen are the small fry in a war. The horsemen were the ones to fear. Their speed and the fact that they will rarely miss attacking someone on foot. But this was not a comparison between men; God didn’t say footmen and horsemen, He said footmen and horses. Horses vs men? There’s no basis for comparison really.
Jeremiah, I called you for a horse race and you are focused on foot races. I called you for greatness, to dominate and subdue nations. Yet you’re focusing on whether unbelievers are wealthy or not. That’s not what I called you to do.” Saith the Lord.
So many of us are focused on things that are too trivial to be even classified as horsemen. You are focusing on clothes, followers, cars, your feelings, and inconveniences and you are whining. God is wondering when you will step into your dominion mandate. Souls are at stake but you are still carrying a grudge from 2010 and arguing online about tithe and offering. Beloved, how will you run with horses when you’re complaining about footmen? You have bigger fish to fry. Focus!!
Take a moment and ask God for grace. I know that it is not as easy as I make it be but this is not the time to face footmen. Our Lord is almost back and we have to be about the kingdom more than ever. May the Lord give you the courage to focus and withstand the little challenges and the courage to face the big ones.
Shalom.
